Do you do personal budgeting? If yes, why? Please share what budgeting tools and/or budgeting software do you use?

I don't budget, but I'm very careful with my money and I don't just buy things I don't need.

Budgeting is good for 2 key reasons. You undertsnad your cash in and cash out. Once you have identified your income and the monthly costs you are more cognisant of what you can and can't spend on. I use a simple Excel spreadsheet with all the costs I have monthly/annually.

I've heard good things about mint.com, however it looks like it's geared towards US customers. Have anybody used it?

I don't think you can use Mint with your Canadian bank accounts.

as with most others, i'd say a simple excel sheet will do. i always maintain that using special software to keep tabs of budget and computations of finances is futile if you are not careful about your money and if you keep on accruing debts because you make too much unnecessary purchase.
