Although I'm not surprised this is a really scary number. Decent paying jobs are harder to get, while the debt levels Canadians have, have exploded in recent years. This will all end badly...

I continue to read about the tenative Canadian economy, but to be honest, my wife and I haven't felt a thing. Our friends from our high school and university days also seem to be as prosperous as ever. We're all young 30-something professionals so it may well be that another demographic is shouldering more of the pain.

Hopefully those who are experiencing these difficulties can get back on their feet soon.
