Canadian federal student loans close to #13 billion!
According to the Canadian Federation of Students, Canadian students are deeply in debt, owing close to $13 billion to the federal government of Canada in student loans. This is a truly worrisome number, considering the dire economic situation caused by excessive debt.

Our society is purely debt-based and young people are conditioned to accept that without questioning it. Young professionals out from college or university are saddled with debt that they'll struggle to repay for years, sometimes for decades. I wonder if university fees will be that high, if there were no student loans and education had to be paid cash?

Education is expensive, and if you don't have the means to pay for it with your own money or by borrowing then don't do it.
