Default depositing to an estate account

Hi, I would greatly appreciate some feed back as I'm getting different answers from different Banks regarding depositing cheques into an estate account.

The question is, can a cheque that is payable to a deceased individual be deposited to an estate account, ie cheque payable to Jim Smith who is deceased deposited into the Estate of Jim Smith account. I thought that this would be OK but one Bannk told me no and also said that it would be illegal.

Hi Peter,

I can't answer your question, but if I were you I would consult a lawyer right away.
