Default BNS jump

Hi Folks,

My first post here.
Judging by the number of posts here in these forums it doesn't seem like my question will be answered in a timely manner, ie. the next hour

BNS has had a run-up today and yesterday that's way above the other banks.
I can't find any news that's driving this.

Does anyone know what it is all about?

TIA

This is the only thing that I found:

http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?p...d=aK0bL5rVq6Xk

but I doubt this is the cause...

Thanks Trent I hadn't seen that info yet.
I agree that it is likely not the cause of the jump the past couple of days.
Volume was very heavy today too.

Hopefully something else will come out soon.

Don't you think that investing in the financial sector is risky in this economy?

Not really, in the Canadian market.
Nice returns from March until now. I was away and didn't start playing it until April-May.
I just cashed out last week, but may return depending on how things go in the next week or so.

One thing for sure though is that the Canadian financial sector follows the DJIA almost to each point.
