Default No real estate crisis - Ottawa is just fine

According to this press release from Ottawa Real Estate Board, Ottawa's real estate market is doing just fine and actually posted a small price increase in January year over year:

So I guess things are not as bad as most of the doom sayers are wishing to be

I'm yet to read the report, but I can tell you that no big Canadian city will be spared in the BIG CANADIAN REAL ESTATE CRASH EVER! The prices declines will happen at different rates in different cities, but the end result will be more or less the same.

I don't know where do you get your optimism from, but did you read this thread?

If not, read it and let me know if you are still optimistic about Canadian economy?

Do you live in Ottawa, by any chance? To think that any city is special and it will avoid this real estate crash is naive to say the least.

No I don't live in Ottawa, and I'm not a real estate agent as well. I don't see how the price increase in Ottawa real estate year over year can be a bad news.
